A Great Planner for Moms..

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

For those of you who know me, you know that I like to have a little, umm...order in my life. At times that can be a little difficult having 4 kids six and under, but I like to appear to have some semblance of order in my life. I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite things that I use/do with you.

I found one of the best little planners in the world - and it might just be available at your local Walmart. If you haven't seen this one, it's by Amy Knapp and it's called The Family Organizer. It runs right around $10 (unless you buy it from her website) and runs for 18 months from July of one year to December of the next. Sadly I do look forward to June each year when the new ones come out. :)

Here is a shot of what it looks like open:

I know you can't read all the little print, so I'll tell you some of my favorite feature from this planner:

  • Grocery list - the side of the book that is shaded purple actually has a perforated edge so that you can fold it and tear it off and bring it to thestore with you
  • To Do List - great little area for notes. Sadly I need more room because my lists have lists.
  • Week at a Glance - there is a month-at-a-glance also, but this one gives space for each day
  • Meal planning - next to each day of the week there is a spot (in the shaded purple area) to write down what you have planned as a meal for that day of the week.

There are other great aspects of it too (color coded stickers, etc...) and you can check it out on Amy Knapp's website. I love that it is spiral-bound and can lay flat. Open it is about the size of a standard size piece of paper - not too small (that I lose it) and not too big (that I dread seeing it).

That's my start at sharing some of my means of keeping my sanity. Mine has binder clips, things all over it and is very well loved and used! I'm going to keep posting over the next few weeks how I do a few other things: monthly meal planning, my official "to do" lists, etc... whatever might just happen to pop into my head randomly. But if it helps you out - use it!! :)

  1. You are talking my language, girl!

I told Mom that you gave us those lights. :) When I told her that you were just wanting to get a bunch of stuff *out* of your house RIGHT NOW, she just laughed and said, "uh-huh. Birds of a feather..."

Hmm...could she have meant that I, too, go through phases where I purge my home like a madman? *wink*

One of these days I WILL get to walmart to take a look at that planner.

  3. This is my second year to use this planner. LOVE it! I've used both the standard planner and the Christian planner (it has a spot for prayer requests & Bible verses printed throughout) and also the spiral-bound and the hole-punched version--and I don't know which I prefer! Wish I could get a peek at her homeschool version...I bet that's what I'll order in June. :)

  5. hmm, looks cool. I'll have to check that out. haven't been to your blog in a little while; mine got deleted by accident--with a little help from my Zach. my fault I left the computer where he could get to it and bang on the keys. anyway, I've got it going again.
