The Job of the President is....

The kids are perking up a little more each day (some more quickly than others) which is evident by the

a) arguing in the house
b) increased level of violence
c) the funny stuff that comes out of their mouths
d) all of the above

(The answer is D in case you were wondering. :)

McKenna and I were reading some of her schoolwork together yesterday (she was reading to me). Her first assignment was a little "prayer" of sorts called "I Can Pray!" As she was reading it she was almost too the end when she turned to me and said, "This girls prays too much!"

Much to Rick's disappointment, there was some ice skating show on during the Dallas game on Sunday, so while he was flipping channels avoiding the commercials he had to stay on the skating once the girls saw it. The kids were in awe watching, even Zachary (shocking, I know!!). He just sat and stared at one lady as she skated and then said, "I wish I could marry her."

When I asked him why, he said, "Because then I could dance with her."

We're starting an new lapbook about President's Day and we were talking about President Bush yesterday. I asked McKenna, "What does President Bush do?"

She thought for a second and said, "Um. Look for bushes?"

Apparently we need to study the topic a little further....

Head on over to Mary's for some more Tiny Talk!

  1. So cute! Isn't it funny how certain shows just grab the kids' attention? My kids love watching that too!

  4. What fun! We have a photo of W on our "school wall" as well as a copy of a portrait of the first president. It's been neat to hear the children exclaim "Hey, that's our president" when they see something about him. Others, who have been less verbal during the past 6 years would just say, "Hey, that man's in our house!" I'm sure you plan to use www.Whitehouse.gov , too.
