Menu Plan MondaySomeone asked me a great question last week ~ do we seriously go through THAT much bread in a week?

My answer ~ NO!! Typically we go through at least four loaves a week {they are long bread loaves so they last a little longer}. In the second batch of bread that I make each week, I try to make at least two loaves of cinnamon raisin bread {for breakfasts} and another two that are whole wheat.  I have been trading two loaves of bread a week for eggs with a friend of mine and it has been WONDERFUL!!

On a side note, I slice the bread after it has cooled a bit, bag it, and then freeze three of the loaves right away and we pull those out during the week as we need them.

Anyway…here’s what on the menu for the week! and really…the pizza recipe we’ve been using will post Thursday! :)

Monday

Tuesday
  • Breakfast ~ Baked oatmeal
  • Dinner ~  Quiche and broccoli
Wednesday Thursday
  • Breakfast ~ Whole wheat pancakes
  • Dinner ~  Leftovers
Friday
  • Breakfast ~ Cereal
  • Dinner ~ Homemade pizza and carrot sticks
Saturday
  • Breakfast ~ Scrambled eggs, bacon & toast
  • Dinner ~ Out to eat {we’re going to Veggie Tales Live!}
Sunday
  • Breakfast ~ Cinnamon rolls
  • Dinner ~ Popcorn & smoothies

As Always: I’ve linked to any recipes that I’ve already posted. That’s it for the week ~ what on your menu?

  7. I enjoy reading through your menus. I really want to try your wheat bread recipe, and I'm particularly interested in the dough enhancer. In the past, whenever I make wheat bread it's not as nice of a texture as my white bread. So....I looked over at your post with the recipe and it looks like local stores don't carry it? Bummers, because I think you live in the same locality that I do (though I'm not certain). I hesitate to buy a whole case of something I haven't tried at all. Is there anyway I can buy one can from you? Or, have you discovered any store that carries it around here?

  8. Sally ~

Sharp S. used to carry it and that's where I first found it, but then they started carrying a generic brand that didn't work as well.

If you can contact me directly, I can maybe help you out, but I don't know how to get ahold of you since there is no email address attached to your account.
