Screaming Like a Girl

Zachary’s two bottom teeth are very loose, but he refuses to let us touch, wiggle, or do anything that mildly resembles possible removal of the teeth. The permanent teeth have both come in behind the two teeth, so we know we need to get them out soon.

I’ve tried to be super-patient with him when attempting to wiggle the teeth, but the moment any area in the vicinity of his teeth is touched ~ he screams.

Loudly. Super shrill. Painfully so.

When trying to wiggle his tooth yet again, I had only touched his lip when he screamed. I snapped at him, “Quit screaming like a girl.”

He replied, “Sorry. I’ll scream like a boy.”

‘Cause that’ll help.

  1. I am a mean Mommy. When a tooth is ready to fall out and is just dangling, I start reducing the amount of money that the toothfairy will leave by increments each day. So, if the first day they would get $1, for example, the next day that the tooth is still there, it might go down to 75 cents. So far, we haven't gone down more than 2 increments!

  2. My daughter is HORRIBLE with teeth. She lets them get so lose that they just barely hang on and she won't let me touch them. She hyperventilates just thinking about getting a tooth pulled. When it was time for her last one to come out, I finally had to pin her down on the bathroom counter. As soon as I got a hold of it, it popped out. I hardly had to pull.

  3. hehe love it! I hope you can get them out soon! Tim's little sisters teeth did the same thing and they had to get them pulled to get them out (I don't think hers wiggled though). Good luck!

  4. LOL! I'm worried about Abby's teeth. She's 6 1/2 and none of them are loose yet. I'm afraid she'll have to eventually have them pulled. Luckily the others haven't come up yet.

  5. Jenny, my son was an easy six and half before his got loose. In fact, we didn't even know they were lose until he had his fingers in mouth and I was asking him what was wrong. He said there was something behind his tooth. It was his adult tooth. It still took a while for that tooth to come out. He's almost seven and half now, and has only lost 3 teeth. His friends who are a year younger have lost 6! USUALLY, it'll happen in their own time! :D

  7. Same thing happened over here too. Our boy had 2 really lose teeth that also needed to come out because the teeth behind were coming in. He also didn't want us to touch it either. The first one fell out while play wrestling with dad and other one about a week later came out the same way.

  8. This is hilarious! I am so pitiful. I discovered Joe's bottom tooth is loose a couple weeks ago and I didn't tell him, nor will I. I am so sad that he is going to lose a tooth soon. Can't believe I just admitted that! They just grow way too fast....
