Menu Plan Monday

This past week our meal plan and my cooking was thrown off a little bit when sickness made the rounds in our kids. Rick and I ended up eating leftovers for several nights and meals were b.l.a.n.d to keep little tummies happy and not revolting.

Which was fine by me.

Some of the meals are being carried over from last week since I had things on hand and would like to still have them. :)  I obviously didn’t get the pizza dough recipe posted ~ but it is scheduled to go up this Thursday!

Don’t forget to download my Printable Meal Planner ~ it’s one that you can add in the meals that your family loves and will help you out when planning out your meals. The pdf document can be edited and saved so you can change it when you would like!

I’m Alive…

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

Tired, but alive. The kids have all been taking rounds in being sick and that’s pretty much been the main thing on my mind.

That and getting them healthy enough to go to Veggie Tales Live this weekend. :)

More to come….

Masquerade by Nancy Mosher ~ Book Giveaway & Review

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

imageCharlotte Gleason is a young English socialite on the verge of marrying an American man that she does not know ~ all to help her family’s financial situation. Her soon-to-be fiance provides passage for her and her lady’s maid Dora, to travel to America so they can meet. While on the ship, Charlotte and Dora hatch a plan to provide Charlotte a way out of the marriage ~ the girls trade places and Dora assumes Charlotte’s identity when they get to New York.

Before long, their plan starts to fall apart. Will they be able to keep up the masquerade and not hurt anyone in the process?

My Thoughts

The historical detail of Masquerade by Nancy Mosher is wonderful and really pulls the reader into that period of history. Learning about the workhouses, crowded tenements and what life was like for many of the immigrants new to America was almost heartbreaking at times.

While a few parts of the book seemed to move rather quickly, the book overall was a fun read. Both of the girls develop much as characters and learn what it means to trust God and follow His guidance in their lives.

Why I Hate Zhu-Zhu Pets

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

It’s really rather simple, but it took all of 1 hour of the Zhu-Zhu pets being home to turn what could have been a lovely relationship…into something rather annoying.

I don’t care if they don’t poop, I’m not a fan.

Menu Plan Monday {11.1.2010}

Menu Plan MondaySomeone asked me a great question last week ~ do we seriously go through THAT much bread in a week?

My answer ~ NO!! Typically we go through at least four loaves a week {they are long bread loaves so they last a little longer}. In the second batch of bread that I make each week, I try to make at least two loaves of cinnamon raisin bread {for breakfasts} and another two that are whole wheat.  I have been trading two loaves of bread a week for eggs with a friend of mine and it has been WONDERFUL!!

On a side note, I slice the bread after it has cooled a bit, bag it, and then freeze three of the loaves right away and we pull those out during the week as we need them.

Anyway…here’s what on the menu for the week! and really…the pizza recipe we’ve been using will post Thursday! :)

Monday

Tuesday
  • Breakfast ~ Baked oatmeal
  • Dinner ~  Quiche and broccoli
Wednesday Thursday

Saturday
  • Breakfast ~ Scrambled eggs, bacon & toast
  • Dinner ~ Out to eat {we’re going to Veggie Tales Live!}
Sunday

  • Dinner ~ Popcorn & smoothies

As Always: I’ve linked to any recipes that I’ve already posted. That’s it for the week ~ what on your menu?

Picture Outtakes

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

Rick wanted some new pictures of the kids to bring to work, so the kids and I spent a little time in the backyard taking pictures the other day.

Of course there are some lovely outtakes that will otherwise forever sit on my computer, never seeing the light of day. Except I have a blog and some readers who will LOVE to get a glimpse into the silliness.

Getting the Buzz Lightyear shirt off Kaleb’s body was near impossible and results were only achieved after much bribing…and a lollipop.

But even a new shirt doesn’t help with facial expressions…

It only took 120 pictures to get some decent shots though. Thank the LORD for digital cameras!

Mission accomplished!
